Kathie Bennett

Founder and President

Magic Time Literary Publicity’s founder and president, Kathie Bennett is first and foremost a passionate reader. So it came as no surprise when Kathie, a successful community fundraiser who has spearheaded many philanthropic and literacy efforts throughout the South, founded Magic Time Literary Agency in 2008. It was her way of responding to the need she perceived within the publishing arena, and ensuring that her favorite authors could afford to continue to write.

With the encouragement of bestselling authors, Kathie, who holds a BA in English from The University of the South, discovered her mission: to be an author advocate. "Their success is my success," says Bennett. As a champion of books, Magic Time provides publicist services and serves as a booking agent, securing speaking engagements for academic, corporate, and non-profit arenas.

Elizabeth Durham

Social Media & Content Coordinator

Elizabeth Durham is Magic Time Literary Publicity’s social media coordinator and digital content writer/coordinator. Earning her B.A. in English and Spanish from Mercer University in the spring of 2019, Elizabeth graduated summa cum laude and with University Honors. Her honors thesis analyzed Gone with the Wind (the 1000-page book, not the 4-hour movie) and its impact on racial perception during the early twentieth century. A grammar enthusiast and experienced proofreader, she can spot a spacing error with one glance at the p a g e (and really hopes that there aren’t any ironic typos in her bio).

Her favorite pastimes include taking her two big dogs for walks, watching Outlander, and writing. A self-acclaimed gastronome, she strives to learn a new recipe every week. Also, she would like everyone to know that while she is a Taurus, she doesn’t let it affect her professional life…much.
