Ronald Greer
RONALD J. GREER is the director of the Pastoral Counseling Service at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, where he has served for over thirty years. An ordained United Methodist minister, he is a fellow with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and a clinical fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Ron’s latest book, THE PATH OF COMPASSION: LIVING WITH HEART, SOUL, AND MIND was published in February 2018. This writing is both a call to compassion and a guide for engaging Christian caring with effectiveness and grace, showing the way to unite our heartfelt empathy with acts of compassion and how that union can make a difference.
His previous books include NOW THAT THEY ARE GROWN: SUCCESSFULLY PARENTING ADULT CHILDREN, IF YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, YOU’LL KNOW WHAT TO DO: LIVING WITH INTEGRITY, and MARKINGS ON THE WINDOWSILL: A BOOK ABOUT GRIEF THAT’S REALLY ABOUT HOPE.
Ron is a frequent speaker at conferences, churches and organizations on a variety of issues including compassion, marriage, integrity, grief and it’s healing, and personal growth.
A native of Louisiana, Ron holds a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University, a Master of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a Master of Theology in pastoral counseling from Columbia Theological Seminary.
Ron and his wife Karen have been married for over 40 years. They have two adult children—and are proud grandparents.
